Hi Vince
I've only just spotted your post. I am glad you are enjoying the painting. I remember our long chat and what you said about the painting at the time.
Best, Charles

Well, it's not too late - I'm still alive. Email stuckism@yahoo.co.uk and pop over for a cup of tea. The Guardian critic is Adrian Searle and he said, "So dreadful are they that one might be forgiven for thinking there must be something to them. There isn't, except a lot of ranting."

Fantastically rich and insightful article, Charles Thomson ( before I started reading I thought charles thomson was the original name of Frank Black, and was expecting something else entirely) comes accross very well and his arguments are lucid, valid and well actually I agree with him. Usually I have a knee-jerk reaction against anything that uses the word 'establishment', but I think it is demonstrably justified in this context; for the last two years or so my opinion of Stuckism, and reaction to it whenever I have encountered it empirically, has been word for word that of the main Guardian art critic (whose name I can't actually remember now and can't be fucked to look it up, Im late for lunch as it is), and I never gave them any credence whatsoever. I actually met Charles Thompson once, and really regret not talking to him properly now, but at the time I had this wonderful sense of superiority because there he was, a Stuckist, and so therefore at best a well meaning imbecile. Ugh I feel like an idiot now.
